A sensitive renovation of a traditional Provençal stone villa, set among olive trees and wisteria in the hills of the Var.
The brief was to bring a centuries-old stone bastide into a contemporary register without losing what makes it sing. We added a new wing clad in pale dressed stone, opened it to the garden with large dark steel-framed windows, and replanted the courtyards so that the inside and outside read as one continuous landscape.
Interior layouts were entirely rethought — opened, simplified, daylit — while the original stone, beams and reclaimed shutters were carefully restored. Paths in dry-laid stone, an outdoor kitchen with wood-fired oven, and a wisteria-shaded terrace complete the project.
